Dominican Republic Experience I
On June 20, 2026, a mix of players from Central, North, and South Florida made their way to Santo Domingo, DR. In the span of that week, the team played a total of 8 games, winning 6. El Niche Academy & Academia Samuel Martes are a few teams that we had faced against at the historic famous, Estadio Tetelo Vargas. Off the field, the team got to visit the New York Yankees’ Dominican Academy, and got to fully immerse themselves. They got to see how newly signed ball players train and persevere to try achieve their goals for the big leagues. Then, had the opportunity to watch a few innings between the Mets & Yankees’ DSL (Dominican Summer League) teams. To close off the day, everyone headed to a beach in Juan Dolió. Overall, this experience was an unforgettable for everyone involved. The factors of it being an international competition and the cultural immersion was a unique touch to this trip. Getting to play in these historic stadiums and see and experience the development of baseball first-hand. We can’t wait for more to come.
